The second edition of the highly popular Grundig gravel race is set for the weekend of 15th June 2025. Last years event was a huge success in this new to the uk genre of cycling. Newnham park Plymouth has a storied history after being a host venue of the Grundig world mountain bike series in the 90's. For those of you who are local you will be aware of the continued use of Newnham for regional and national mtb xco races and also for numerous enduro and cyclocross events, it's clear to see that this is a fantastic cycling venue.
The route in 2024 was welcomed by most as a tip of the hat to the mtb heritage of Newnham, in 2025 we plan to make the course a little less mtb and more gravel oriented. The course will use as much of Newnham's fire roads and hard tracks as possible with the addition of some tame single track to tie these together.
We have added a two hour option this year so riders can choose to race for either two or three hours.
We will be running our event under British cycling this year as they are embracing gravel as its own category in 2025.
